Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant - Compounding
Location: The Compounding Pharmacy of Manitoba

Reports to: Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant with experience in compounding to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy, you will assist in the preparation of compounded medications while collaborating effectively as a team in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in pharmacy while contributing to the well-being of our patients with our compounded preparations.

Responsibilities:

- Preparation of compounded medications (e.g., creams, ointments, oral suspensions, capsules, nasal sprays).
- Measure, mix, and package medications according to established formulas, protocols and Standards of Practice.
- Maintain accurate records of all compounded prescriptions and formulations.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of compounded medications.
- Maintain inventory and assist with ordering of raw materials for compounding as necessary.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulatory guidelines in all compounding procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient compounding area.
- Provide exceptional collaboration with team members and clients.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Stay up-to-date with compounding regulations, techniques, and industry best practices.

Requirements:





- High school diploma or equivalent; Pharmacy Assistant or Technician certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical compounding setting is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of compounding techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks in a busy setting.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software (Kroll) and technology is an advantage.
- A passion for providing high-quality, personalized healthcare solutions.
- Ability to commute to Oakbank, Manitoba on a daily basis.
