We are currently recruiting for casual Assistant Lifeguard positions at the Leduc Recreation Centre.
What is the Opportunity?
As an Assistant Lifeguard, your main priority is to ensure the safety of the patrons utilizing the waterslide. You will also be required to assist the Lifeguards with Swim Tests, focus on change room and facility cleanliness, provide assistance to Lifeguards as required,
and assist with the safety of patrons in other general pool activities.
What will you do?
- Monitor Waterslide patrons
- Conduct Swim Test Evaluations for patrons
- Prevent injuries by providing public education and safety supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around the water for users by conducting maintenance every shift
- Work with your team and supervisors to remain current on operational procedures, first aid, and rescue skills
- Provide users with a high quality of customer service and create a valuable and positive experience
- Maintain a positive attitude and portray a professional image when dealing with the public
Who you are?
- Minimum 15 years of age
- A positive and energetic personality who is hard working and team-oriented
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent verbal skills
- A commitment to ongoing learning and skill development, including the ability to complete monthly fitness and knowledge skills tests, attend all required training and in-service sessions, and complete additional courses or certifications as required
Certifications:
- Bronze Cross
- Intermediate First Aid with CPR C
Hours of Work:
- Must commit availability to work at least one (1) evening shift and one (1) weekend shift per week
- Evening Shifts are generally 2 hours.
- Daytime hours are available on School Professional Development Days and Holidays
- Anticipated hours are approximately 2 – 20 hours per week.
- Must be flexible to attend training sessions outside of typical work week hours, as required.
