About Leduc Curling Club

nEstablished in 1917, the Leduc Curling Club is one of the longest-established facilities in Leduc, Alberta, and an integral part of the Leduc Recreation Centre. The club is a vibrant hub for sport, community, and connection. As we move into the future, we’re seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial General Manager / Promotions Manager to lead operations, drive growth, and grow & enhance the curling club’s culture.n

The Opportunity

nThis is a chance to leave your stamp on the legacy of the Leduc Curling Club. As the General Manager, you’ll be the face of the club—responsible for operations, programming, marketing, and community engagement. You’ll work closely with the Board of Directors and a small team to deliver an exceptional member experience and position the club as a premier destination for curling and events.n

Key Responsibilities

1. Club Operations & Administration
n

nn
- Provide leadership and oversight for daily club operations, including league and event registration, internal and external communications, and member services.
n
- Source, evaluate, and procure necessary equipment and supplies, such as ice maintenance tools, office materials, and other operational needs.
n
- Assist the Board of Directors and volunteer teams with administrative functions and strategic planning initiatives.
n
- Continuously monitor and assess club programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives

1. Financial Management
n

- Development and implementation of an annual budget and forecast for the curling season to be reviewed and accepted by the Board of Directors.

- Management of financial software (QuickBooks,



Curling IO, etc.)
n
- Monthly reporting of financial transactions and status to be reviewed with the Board of Directors.

1. Programming & Member Engagement
n

- Develop and lead inclusive programs such as Junior Curling, Learn to Curl, and recreational leagues.
n
- Organize skill clinics, theme nights, and community events.
n
- Launch a New Member Welcome Program and year-round communications strategy.

1. Marketing & Promotions
n

- Create and execute marketing campaigns to grow membership and event bookings.
n
- Manage digital platforms including the website, newsletters, and social media.
n
- Use storytelling and content creation to build a strong brand presence.
n

1. Revenue Development

- Identify and implement new revenue streams, including partnerships and facility rentals.
n
- Develop pricing strategies and track key performance metrics.
n
- Promote the club as a venue for corporate events, banquets, and community functions.

1. Community & Career development

- Build partnerships with local schools, businesses, and organizations.
n
- Represent the club at industry events and pursue relevant training opportunities.
n

nWho You Are

- A proactive leader with experience in marketing, sales,



and event management—ideally in recreation or hospitality.
n
- Passionate about community sport and delivering inclusive, high-quality experiences.
n
- Skilled in budgeting, volunteer coordination, and digital communications.
n
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with booking and registration systems.
n
- Curling experience is a strong asset
n

nPreferred Qualificationsn

n
- Experience in curling program delivery or club operations
n
- ACP Teaching or Managing Pro credentials, or willingness to obtain
n
- NCCP Competition Coach Certification (preferred)
n
- Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
n
- Experience working in amateur sport or not-for-profit environments
n
- Knowledge of curling pathways, leagues, and community structures
n

nRole Requirementsn

n
1. Locationn: You must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Leduc, Alberta area. This is an in-person operational role; remote work is not available.
n
2. Flexible work hoursn: This role requires availability across a variety of hours—mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends—particularly during the curling season (August to March). The position averages approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility to bank extra hours during the winter season to a maximum value of 65 hours per week and use them for additional time off during the non-curling months.

3. Work Eligibilityn: You must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work permits.
