nAre you a caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) – Infant/Toddler who is passionate about supporting children and families during the earliest and most key stages of development? Squamish Nation is seeking an ECE – Infant/Toddler to join the Ta na wa Ch’awát ta Sx̱wéx̱wel Squamish Valley Operations Department within Ḵ'iyáx̱an Ch'áwch'aw Community Services.nThis role offers a meaningful opportunity to provide nurturing, culturally grounded care to infants and toddlers while supporting families through holistic, family‑centred programming rooted in Squamish teachings, values, and traditions. This is more than a childcare role—it is an opportunity to help build strong foundations for lifelong wellness and identity.n

What You’ll Do

n
- Welcome and care for infants and toddlers registered in the daycare program, ensuring each child feels safe, supported, and nurtured.
n
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that support infants’ and toddlers’ intellectual, physical, emotional, and social growth.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Daycare Team Leader to develop and implement individualized daycare service plans, incorporating traditional Squamish Nation cultural healing and teaching methods.
n
- Maintain open, respectful, and positive communication with parents, caregivers, and the daycare team.
n
- Ensure a healthy, safe, and engaging environment by maintaining cleanliness, supervision, and safety standards.
n
- Adhere to workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures at all times.
n




- Participate as an active team member within Family Centers and Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Services teams.
n
- Perform other related duties as required to support program and team success.
n

What We’re Looking For

n

n
- Early Childhood Educator Certificate and Infant/Toddler Certificate from a recognized post‑secondary institution.
n
- Valid ECE License to Practice, or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe.
n
- 1–2 years of directly related experience in a childcare or early learning environment, including experience working with infants and toddlers.
n
- Beginner‑level experience using Microsoft Office and internet‑based tools.
n
- Previous experience working in a First Nations community—particularly Squamish—is considered an asset.
n
- High emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity when working with infants, toddlers, and families.
n
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high‑pressure or emotionally demanding situations.
n
- Ability to communicate information tactfully and diplomatically.
n
- Strong ethical conduct and commitment to confidentiality.
n
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Valid Food Safe Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Up‑to‑date immunization record.
n




- Doctor’s letter/medical certificate confirming sound physical and psychological health.
n
