nAre you a caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) who is passionate about supporting children, families, and community wellness? Squamish Nation is seeking an ECE Early Childhood Educator to join the Tin Mun Mun Daycare within Ta na wa Ch’awát ta Sx̱wéx̱wel – Squamish Valley Operations.nThis role offers a meaningful opportunity to provide nurturing, culturally grounded care that supports children’s intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development while honouring Squamish Nation teachings, values, and traditions. This is more than a childcare role—it’s a chance to contribute to the well‑being and future of the community.n
What You’ll Do
n
n
- Welcome and care for children registered in the daycare program in a protected and nurturing environment.
n
- Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities and experiences that support children’s development.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Daycare Team Leader to develop and implement individualized daycare service plans, incorporating traditional Squamish cultural healing and teaching methods.
n
- Foster open, respectful, and positive communication with parents, caregivers, and the daycare team.
n
- Ensure a healthy, safe, and supportive environment by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
n
- Follow workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures at all times.
n
- Participate as an active team member within Family Centers and Tin Mun Mun Daycare.
n
- Perform other related duties as required to support program success.
n

What We’re Looking For
n
n
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate from a recognized post‑secondary institution.
n
- Valid ECE License to Practice, or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe.
n
- 1–2 years of directly related experience in a childcare or early learning environment.
n
- Beginner‑level experience using Microsoft Office and internet‑based tools.
n
- Previous experience working in a First Nations community—particularly Squamish—is preferred.
n
- Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills.
n
- High emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity when working with children and families.
n
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high‑pressure or dynamic environments.
n
- Ability to share information tactfully and diplomatically with families and colleagues.
n
- Team‑oriented, positive, and approachable attitude.
n
- Robust commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
n
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Valid Food Safe Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Up‑to‑date immunization record.
n
- Doctor’s letter/medical certificate confirming sound physical and psychological health.
