nHSE Field ManagernRole Summary:nThe Role of HSE Field Manager is a critical, client-facing role primarily focused on managing health, safety, and environmental compliance for major rail and infrastructure projects, specifically supporting Metrolinx and VIA Rail. The HSE Field Manager will be responsible for overseeing field operations across various Ontario sites, including Chatham and Courtice Yard, ensuring all contractor requirements and safety standards are met through rigorous auditing, training, and documentation management.n

The HSE Field Manager role requires a high degree of flexibility, involving a mix of in office audits, work block attendance (including nights and long weekends),



and administrative oversight from a home office.

HSE Field ManagernPrimary Duties & Responsibilities includen:

n

1. Field Compliance & Auditing
n

- Site Inspections: Conduct weekly and monthly site audits for long-term projects.
n
- Work Block Oversight: Attend Metrolinx and VIA Chatham work blocks as required, which may include full-day or night shifts.
n
- Project-Specific Audits: Perform dedicated audits for locations such as SK (3 days including travel) and VIA Chatham (2 days including travel).
n
- Specialized Inspections: Execute hoisting and rigging inspections, as well as annual PPE inspections.

1. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management
n

- Client Relations: Manage client HSE requirements and lead client-facing meetings to ensure alignment with Metrolinx/VIA standards.
n
- COR Certification: Lead internal COR (Certificate of Recognition) audit preparations to ensure the organization is ready for external validation.
n
- Environmental Compliance: Oversee and ensure adherence to environmental regulations across project sites.
n
- Emergency Preparedness: Schedule and lead rescue drills in conjunction with site audits.

1. Training & Technical Services

- Program Development:



Manage and deliver the company's training programs and Ontario staff training.
n
- Fit Testing: Conduct fit testing for personnel in Ontario and Western regions.
n
- Specialized Rescue: Provide "as-required" services for confined space rescue (Pont de Québec/ArcelorMittal), standby water rescue, and ice rescue preparations.

1. Administration & Documentation

- Document Generationn:nCreate and maintain necessary HSE documentation.
n
- Digital Management: Use SiteDocs for the review, monitoring, and assembly of safety documentation.
n
- Records Management: Maintain accurate Ontario staff training records.
n

nTo be considered for this role, the “HSE Field Manager” must have the following qualifications:n

n
- Post-Secondary Health & Safety education (Degree, Certificate & Diploma)
n
- 2-5 years of experience in the rail, heavy infrastructure, or construction sector
n
- Actively working towards CRST or NCSO
n
- Proficient in hoisting/rigging inspections, PPE auditing, and fit testing (Ideal)
n
- Trained in Work at Heights (WAH), Water/Ice Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue (Ideal)
n
- Ability to travel to various sites across Ontario and occasionally to Western regions
n
