About the Position

Explore Edmonton is looking for an Event Services Crew 1 to join the Facility teamat the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Reporting directly to the Manager, Facility Maintenance Services, this position is responsible for supporting the preparation, conversion, and day-to-day operational needs of the venue. Typical daily activities include event setup and teardown, room preparation, equipment operation, inventory maintenance, and supporting building and grounds operations. This role works as part of a team to help create secure, functional, and event-ready spaces for clients, guests, and visitors.

This is a Temporary position from July 6 to August 6, 2026.

What You'll Do:

- Support the setup, conversion, and teardown of event spaces for a variety of events and activities.
- Prepare rooms and event areas according to event requirements.
- Set up and remove chairs, tables, stages, seating, and other event-related equipment.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as forklifts, lawn mowers, and seasonal grounds equipment.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, inventory, and supplies related to venue operations.
- Assist with the maintenance of interior and exterior walkways, pathways,



and grounds.
- Help maintain a safe working environment by following all health, safety, and fire regulations.
- Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and assist with fire alarm response when required.
- Support operational needs and perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to follow direction.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a busy event environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 22.5 kg repeatedly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience working in event operations, facility operations, labour, or customer service environments is considered an asset.
