As a TCP, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of traffic and ensuring the safety of all individuals at roadwork sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Traffic Management: Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at construction sites or events to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
2. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and protocols to minimize accidents and ensure the safety of all workers and the public.
3. Signage and Equipment: Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades, in accordance with established guidelines.
4. Communication: Effectively communicate with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to provide clear instructions and maintain a safe environment.
5. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and accidents promptly, including directing traffic away from dangerous situations.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities and incidents as required.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all traffic control equipment is in good working order and report any issues promptly.
Qualifications:
Must have clear English
- TCP Certification: Valid Traffic Control Person certification is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in traffic control or related roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods,
often in adverse weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to provide clear instructions and maintain effective communication on-site.
- Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety regulations effectively.
- Reliability: Punctuality and reliability are essential to ensure the smooth operation of traffic control.
