Located on the brink of one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, the Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls is a 404-guestroom full service hotel, minutes away from area attractions, world-class wineries, golf and casinos. The Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls also offers sumptuous dining options at its on-site Milestones Fallsview Restaurant along with 23 private function rooms and boardrooms totaling over 40,000 square feet of meeting space including our 8400 sq. ft. Oakes Grand Ballroom with an additional 2700 sq. ft. foyer. At the Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls, our Housekeeping operations thrive with the commitment of our Associates who demonstrate/support the Marriott core values and culture of putting people first, acting with integrity, serving our world, embracing change and pursuing excellence. We are currently seeking a Laundry Attendant who has a passion for excellence to join our Housekeeping team. Reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper and the Housekeeping Supervisors, this position’s responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Operating and monitoring the washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, and cleaning lint traps
- Identifying stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash or discard; loading and unloading washing machines and dryers
- Feeding the machine with linen; inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts
- Setting dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load; remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap each load
- Folding, sorting and shelving laundry items.
- Maintaining accurate records of items laundered; feed and operate the press; fold all blankets, duvets, mattress covers, towels, bath towels, hand towels, facecloths, and bath manually and place on the appropriate shelves
- Maintaining cleanliness of laundry room such as vacuuming, dusting and sweeping; follow all Occupational Health and Safety policies,
procedures and regulations
- Completing various duties assigned by your manager or supervisor.
What we are looking for:
- Previous laundry experience is an asset
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Possess a good command of the English language and the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate.
- Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a positive attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guests
- Must be dependable and must be a team player
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, overnights, split duties and public holidays
- Must have attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure. Remain calm and courteous at all times
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up
- Ability to perform job functions with minimum supervision
- Ability to maintain and portray Marriott Standards and Policies
- Ability to work cohesively with other departments and team members
- Able to work in an effective and timely manner
