About Us

Safe Lift Equipment Training is a Langley-based equipment and safety training company providing practical operator training throughout British Columbia.

We provide training for forklifts, telehandlers, MEWPs, rigging, fall protection, and additional workplace safety programs. With over 500+ five-star reviews and a growing client base across construction, logistics, manufacturing, and other industries throughout BC, we focus on practical, real-world training that helps operators build confidence while maintaining strong safety standards.

We are currently looking for a practical-minded and dependable individual to assist with hands-on operator evaluations and practical instruction.

Position Overview

This role focuses primarily on practical equipment evaluations and hands-on coaching.

You will work directly with trainees in a practical training environment, helping reinforce safe operation, assess competency, and support day-to-day training activities.

This role is ideal for someone with strong equipment experience who enjoys working with people and wants a flexible, hands-on environment.

Scheduling, administration, theory instruction, and client management are handled separately through company systems and management.

ResponsibilitiesPractical Evaluations & Coaching

Conduct practical evaluations and hands-on coaching for training areas such as:

- Sit-down counterbalance forklifts
- Reach trucks
- Powered pallet trucks
- Telehandlers
- Skid steers
- Scissor lifts and boom lifts
- Fall protection practical evaluations and equipment use demonstrations
- Rigging practicals
- Spider crane and basic crane operation practicals (depending on experience)

Experience in every equipment or training category is not required. Training and familiarization may be provided for the right candidate.

Additional Responsibilities

- Demonstrate safe operating procedures
- Observe trainees during practical exercises
- Reinforce safe operating habits
- Identify unsafe practices and provide coaching




- Verify practical competency
- Complete evaluation paperwork and documentation
- Assist with training yard setup and organization
- Perform basic equipment checks
- Help prepare practical evaluation areas and obstacle courses
- Assist with light equipment upkeep including cleaning, greasing, fueling/charging, and topping up fluids as needed
- Report equipment concerns or maintenance issues
- Represent Safe Lift professionally during training sessions

Work Environment

This is a practical, hands-on environment that may involve:

- Multiple trainees at once
- Varying experience levels
- Different equipment types throughout the day
- Indoor and outdoor work
- Adapting to changing schedules

The successful candidate should be comfortable balancing efficiency with professionalism and safety standards.

Training pace should reflect trainee competency while maintaining proper evaluation and safety standards.

QualificationsRequired

- Strong practical experience operating forklifts, construction equipment, and/or mobile equipment
- Good communication and people skills
- Professional and dependable attitude
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures
- Valid driver's license
- Access to reliable transportation

Assets (Not Required)

- Previous training, coaching, or mentoring experience
- Telehandler, skid steer, MEWP, rigging, crane, or fall protection experience
- Safety certifications
- Warehouse, construction, or equipment rental background
- Supervisory or lead hand experience

- Rigging & signalling practicals
- Overhead crane practical evaluations
- Spider crane practicals
- Additional equipment and safety-related programs
- Expanded responsibilities as training demand grows

Additional training and familiarization may be provided for the right candidate.

Compensation & Schedule

- Casual / part-time position to start
- Typical shifts range approximately 4–6 hours
- Expected approximately 12–30 hours per week initially depending on bookings
- Opportunity for additional hours as training demand grows
- Some Saturdays available
- Minimum 4-hour paid shift when scheduled

Pay: $30–35/hr depending on experience, equipment familiarity, and overall fit
