Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg is seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPN's) that are passionate about nursing to join our team!

SHIFTS AVAILABLE

- (2) Part time
- Days 6am to 2pm
- 15 hrs a week plus the opportunity to pick up more!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

- Providing nursing care in accordance with Maple Manor policy & procedures, with CNO standards, and within the guidelines of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
- Demonstrating professional knowledge and skill in daily practice by responding quickly to unexpected changes in work volume, emergencies, staffing and scheduling changes
- Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians
- Ensuring the safekeeping of all medications
- Providing comprehensive care to residents with complex needs
- Providing understanding, compassion and moral support to residents, as required
- Assessing residents' health status and developing care plans
- Participating in the development and review of resident care plans
- Monitoring and recording residents' vital signs and medical histories
- Documenting observations, interventions, and outcomes of care
- Communicating concisely, accurately and appropriately with all members of the healthcare team
- Participating as a team member by supporting, assisting, relieving and covering for other staff members promptly, when required
- Provides advice, guidance, instruction, and direction to PSWs as necessary, consulting the RN if greater theoretical knowledge is required
- Infection Control and Safety: Follow protocols to maintain hygiene,



prevent infection and ensure patient safety
- All other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Standard First Aid & CPR
- Long Term Care experience an asset
- Must have a sincere interest in people, the elderly in particular, and possess a genuine sensitivity to their needs
- Excellent assessment skills and a strong clinical background
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Able to cope with physical and emotional demands of the job
- Punctual and reliable

ABOUT MAPLE MANOR

Maple Manor Nursing Home, locally owned and operated, is a long-term care facility located in the downtown core of Tillsonburg Ontario. As such it is in close proximity to many churches, stores, doctors’ offices and our local hospital. The home is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is Accredited through the Person-Centred Long Term Care Community Standards of CARF Canada.

The Home is a 103-bed, smoke free facility offering private, semi-private and ward accommodations. In addition, Maple Manor has four temporary licenses for Interim Long-Term Care Home beds through the Aging at Home program. These beds provide a location for residents who would otherwise be kept in hospital while awaiting placement into a Long-Term Care facility.

The Home’s philosophy of care is centered on nurturing the human spirit. As such, we pledge to meet the individual needs of the clients using a resident-centered focus. Care and services for the residents are provided holistically such that their physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs are met to the best of our abilities.
