Advanced Development Engineer
Global Headquarters – Ridgetown, Ontario

The Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of innovative product concepts from ideation through to handoff for commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with solid technical expertise who can navigate ambiguity, drive innovation, and align engineering solutions with business and customer needs.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Salary Range
- $75,000 – $115,000
Job Responsibilities
- Lead Innovation: Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market/technological trends, customer, and legislative needs.
- Develop & Validate Concepts: Create, analyze, and test creative concepts using engineering tools and prototypes.
- Lead internal teams and external partners to align development with business goals.
- Lead Incubator Session Process: Assemble and guide cross‑functional discussions to generate new ideas and solutions, and follow up to implementation.
- Manage Projects: Oversee advanced development projects from concept to handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Engage Customers: Interface with customers to generate excitement, gather feedback and refine concepts to meet their needs.
- Support IP & Technology Strategy: Contribute to patent filings and stay current with emerging technologies.
- Transfer Knowledge: Deliver complete technical and marketing handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales.
Health, Safety & Wellness
- Prioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.
- Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.
- Uphold and adhere to the KSR Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
- Promote the global Environmental Management System with a focus on footprint reduction, recycling, and resource efficiency.
