Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Community Services department as a Social Impact Assistant.

Reporting to Social Investment Coordinator, this position will be responsible for assisting with a variety of initiatives to improve organizational capacity building of the City’s social services sector.

This will involve working directly with nonprofit organizations delivering social services, and other City departments. Qualifications Enrolled in post secondary studies in the fields of community development, community services, nonprofit studies, business, education or a related field. Experience working or volunteering for a social service agency is an asset. Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Additional Qualifications This position is in receipt of Canada Summer Jobs funding and therefore to be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria outlined by the Canada Summer Jobs program: Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration and refugee protection act for the duration of the employment.



Have a valid social insurance number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. Responsibilities Providing administrative support for the development of internal standard operating procedures related to the Family Community Support Services (FCSS) program funding. Providing support and coordination leading up to the Volunteer recruitment and retention lab in the fall, including the development of training materials, promotions and marketing. Assist with the planning and execution of Community Partner Connect, an evening appreciation event for local nonprofit agencies, including live music, dinner and a keynote speaker. Support for agency governance and capacity building initiatives as needed, including monthly newsletters and the FCSS program grant funding cycle. Providing support for various small and short-term projects to support Community Development staff as requested.

This may include researching various community development concepts and initiatives. Providing front desk and holiday coverage – including answering phones, addressing inquiries appropriately, greeting guests, etc. Hours of Work Hours of work will primarily be Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm), with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. The applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule as start and end times may change based on work requirements.

Some evening or weekend work will be required to support events and community initiatives. Compensation The wage ranges from $22.87 - $27.32 per hour based on qualifications and experience. Employees can purchase an annual Recreation Access Pass for $87 + tax, granting unlimited access to Servus Credit Union Place (excluding PLAYcare and registered programs),



Fountain Park Recreation Centre, and Grosvenor Outdoor Pool. Term This is a term position from May 2026 to August 2026, with the possibility of an extension Conditions of Employment The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and skilled credentials.
