Registered Kinesiologist (0.40 FTE - 2.0 days/week) – Kincardine FHT
15-Month Parental Leave Opportunity
The Kincardine Family Health Team is seeking a Registered Kinesiologist to join our team of interdisciplinary health care providers.
The Kincardine Family Health Team is a group of allied healthcare professionals with a mission to provide comprehensive patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that is responsive to the needs of the community. As a Registered Kinesiologist with the KFHT, you will have a passion for health promotion and program development.
REPORTING TO: Executive Director and Clinical Lead
START DATE: May 2026
END DATE: August 2027
WORKWEEK: 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday)
HOURS PER WEEK: 14 hours per week
COMPENSATION RANGE: $37.50/hour - $40.66/hour
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with FHT program development to meet the needs of our patients
· Support inter-disciplinary learners as they rotate through the clinic and FHT
· Deliver, manage and coordinate care and services provided within the primary prevention and falls prevention program
· Design individualized exercise programs
· Promote excellent rapport and communication with primary care practitioners and specialists to provide a consistent approach to care
· Collaborate with interprofessional team to develop and implement group exercise and education programs (including health promotion, fall prevention and other condition or population specific groups)
· Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records
· Actively participate in program planning,
quality improvement initiatives, and meetings as required
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge
EDUCATION / JOB SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS
- University degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology
- Registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Must have a valid driver license and access to a reliable vehicle.
EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in primary prevention exercise. Experience with exercise prescription preferred
- Able to recognize signs and symptoms of cardiovascular distress
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective counseling and health teaching to a diverse population
- Program development experience (development, implementation and reporting statistics)
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgement and to function in an independent, self-directed manner
- Commitment to working from a community- based and health equity perspective
- Excellent communication, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills
