Miracle Beach Provincial Park and Campground.

Help maintain and operate one of Vancouver Island's top Provincial Parks and campgrounds, we'd like to hear from you!

There are 2 different positions available:

Full Time Custodian - see duties below

Part Time or could be Full Time (for the right candidate) Variety Role - see duties below for Gatehouse, Garbage Gang and Evening Patrol.

Custodian Duties-some of the tasks include but are not limited to the following:

- Maintain a variety of outdoor recreation facilities, including pit toilets, shower facilities, campsites, etc to BC Parks Facility Standards

-Ensure day use areas are well-maintained regularly, so that the park is clean and pristine

- Collect permit fees and issue provincial camping permits (training provided)

Gatehouse Duties-some of the tasks include but are not limited to the following:

-Proficiency in cash handling and processing a cash out

-Permit issuing and collection of fees (training provided)

- Sell firewood, ice, snacks and sundries

-Work with internal software program & POS system (training provided)

-Generate reports and provide administrative support to park manager

-Answer phone and walkie-talkie
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all visitors
- Enjoy working in a busy environment while staying calm under pressure

-Being the central hub for visitors and the team

-Outgoing with a positive attitude

Garbage Gang Duties-some of the tasks include but are not limited to the following:





-Pull full garbage and recycling bags out of bins into company truck

-Unload bags into bins at service yard

-Track and monitor full bins

-Raking and sweeping

-Cleaning of bins

-Physically able to walk on uneven surfaces, plus bend, lift and carry 50+ lbs.

-Required to submit a drivers abstract

Evening Patrol/Security-some of the tasks include but are not limited to the following:

-Proficiency in cash handling and processing a cash out

-Permit issuing and collection of fees (training provided)

- Sell firewood, ice, snacks and sundries

-Deliver firewood

-Work with internal software program & POS system (training provided)

- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all visitors

-Outgoing with a positive attitude

Requirements for all positions:

- Must pass and provide an RCMP records check for 'working with vulnerable persons sector'

-As ambassadors of BC Parks, all Acts and contract requires must be met
- Friendly and hardworking

-Robust verbal and written communication skills

-Demonstrate a commitment to deliver outstanding customer service

-Dependable and detail oriented preferred

-Physically able to walk on uneven surfaces, plus bend, lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

-Work well without supervision
