Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Oceanside Equipment Ltd. | Location: Burnside, Dartmouth, NS | Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting inbound freight, inventory handling, and the accurate picking and preparation of sales orders. This role performs the unloading, verification, documentation, and systematic entry of incoming goods to maintain inventory accuracy, while also selecting, staging, and preparing orders for timely fulfillment. The position requires attention to detail, efficiency in a fast‑paced workplace, and the safe operation of material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Inbound Receiving & Logistics: Assist with the offloading of trucks and containers; verify physical counts against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
- Quality Inspection: Perform visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials to identify damage, defects, or discrepancies; obtain and file Certificates of Compliance as required.
- Inventory & Fulfillment Accuracy: Ensure all materials are properly identified, labeled, staged, and recorded using inventory adjustment forms to support accurate order fulfillment.
- Order Picking Support: Accurately select, prepare, and stage materials for sales orders while maintaining quality and minimizing errors.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials between receiving, storage, and fulfillment areas.
Detailed Duties
- Technical Verification: Match incoming and outgoing part numbers, quantities, and specifications against internal records to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Team Support: Support Inbound, Rigging, and Order Picking personnel by ensuring materials are accessible, correctly labeled,
and ready for production or shipment.
- Quality & Efficiency: Maintain required productivity levels while ensuring product integrity and preventing shipping or handling errors.
- Site Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and unobstructed workspace, including receiving docks and fulfillment areas; properly dispose of dunnage and shipping materials.
- Equipment Care: Perform routine daily safety checks and basic maintenance on material handling equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
Necessary Qualifications
- Experience: Prior work-related experience or technical/mechanical coursework is highly valued.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to safely lift 50+ lbs from floor level to waist level repeatedly.
- Communication: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required for documentation and safety protocols.
- Certification: Ability to operate (or willingness to become certified on) both a forklift and pallet truck.
- Compliance: Legally entitled to work in Canada. Enrollment of Group Life & AD&D; Insurance portion. Clear Criminal Record Check.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour
- Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours worked beyond 40 hours per week (optional/as available).

Paid Time Off (PTO) Accrual
- Start – 1st Anniversary: 80 hours/year (3.077 hours per pay period)
- 1st – 4th Anniversary: 104 hours/year (4.0 hours per pay period)
- 4th – 9th Anniversary: 144 hours/year (5.539 hours per pay period)
- 9th Anniversary+: 160 hours/year (6.154 hours per pay period)
- Includes all statutory Protective Leaves (Pregnancy, Parental, Bereavement, etc.).
Schedule & Additional Information
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Full-time, Permanent).
- Breaks: Two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch period.
- Probation: Employment is subject to a 3-month probationary period.
