Garage Door Technician

Garage Doors Elora is hiring a full-time Garage Door Technician to join our growing team.

We are a family-owned garage door, overhead door, and loading dock company based in Elora, Ontario. We service residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers throughout Elora, Fergus, Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Elmira, Orangeville, Rockwood, and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is mechanically inclined, reliable, professional with customers, and willing to learn. Experience with garage doors, overhead doors, loading docks, construction, welding, or mechanical repair is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.

About the Role

As a Garage Door Technician, you will help install, repair, and service residential garage doors, commercial overhead doors, garage door openers, loading docks, trailer restraints, rolling steel doors, and related equipment.

This job is physical, technical, and different every day. You will be working with tools, ladders, scissor lifts, service vehicles, springs, cables, operators, tracks, rollers, hinges, and commercial door systems.

Responsibilities

- Install and repair residential garage doors

- Service and install commercial overhead doors

- Work on garage door openers and commercial operators

- Assist with loading dock and trailer restraint repairs/installations

- Diagnose issues with springs, cables, tracks, rollers, hinges, doors, and operators

- Complete work safely, cleanly, and professionally

- Communicate clearly with customers and the office

- Keep tools, parts, vehicles, and job sites organized

- Follow company safety procedures

- Represent Garage Doors Elora professionally on job sites

Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence

- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and work with tools

- Comfortable working from 20' extension ladders

- Comfortable working on a scissor lift

- Good communication skills

- Strong work ethic

- Positive attitude

Experience That Is Helpful

Experience in any of the following areas is an asset:

- Garage doors

- Overhead doors

- Loading docks

- Trailer restraints

- Construction

- Mechanical repair

- Welding

- Stick welding

- Acetylene torch use

- Electrical troubleshooting

- Equipment repair

- Service work

Schedule

- Full-time
