Full-Time Advanced Care Paramedic

Lanark County Paramedic Service (operatednby Almonte General Hospitaln) is the sole provider of paramedic services within Lanark County, providing 24-hour out-of-hospital emergency and non-emergency care and transportation for patients experiencing injury or illness.

Position Summary

nReporting to the Superintendent, the Paramedic will serve as the first point of patient contact and provide comprehensive routine and emergency care in accordance with all applicable legislation, standards, and Service policies. The paramedic will work in a variety of settings and complete safe transport to hospital or other destinations, as needed.n

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

n

· Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma

n

· Successful MOH Advanced Care Paramedic exam result

n

n
- Eligible for professional Advanced Care Paramedic certification through the Regional Paramedic Program of Eastern Ontario
n
- Ontario Class F Driver’s Licence with no more than 6 demerit points
n
- Valid BLS CPR or equivalent
n
- Able to meet all necessary qualifications set out in the Ambulance Act
n
- Knowledge of the Ambulance Act and Ministry of Health Paramedic Standards
n
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check
n
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
n
- Valid OPPAT result

Compensation:



$46.32 to $48.99 per hour (2023 rates)

n

We offer a competitive compensation package. Candidates with eligible prior service may be considered for portability of service, with potential progression within the wage scale following successful completion of the probationary period. Our compensation package also includes perks, vacation, and Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) enrolment.
