The Prospect
nReporting to the Manager, Solutions Delivery, the Network Analyst is responsible for the installation, testing, administration, and support of data and voice telecommunications hardware, software, and protocols within the Government of Nunavut’s network environment.n
This includes WAN, MAN, LAN, voice, wireless, switching, routing, and related protocols. The role works closely with internal IM/IT teams and third-party vendors to support the stable operation of the Government of Nunavut’s ICT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Support thenanalysis, design, troubleshooting, implementation, and administrationnofnLAN, MAN, WAN, switching, and routing infrastructure
n
- Provide technical expertise fornnetwork-related projects
n
- Analyze current systems and contribute toncapital planning forecastsnand project documentation
n
- Install, configure, optimize, test, and administer the GN’sntest, staging, and development network environment
n
- Support implementation of thenTCP/IP protocol suiten, including at thenpacket level
n
- Monitor and administer:
n
- Syslog
n
- RADIUS/TACACS
n
- Cisco NetFlow
n
- Network configuration management
n
- Use tools such asnWiresharknornNetScout Sniffer Globalnto troubleshoot issues
n
- FollownChange Management proceduresnand acceptednITIL standards
n
nQualificationsn
This role typically requires
n
n
- A recognizedncollege diplomaninnComputer Sciences, Information Technology, or a related Engineering Program
n
nPlus:n
n
- 4 yearsnof recent, progressive experience in anlarge (750+ devices), complex enterprise WAN/MAN/LAN routing and switching environment
n
- 3 yearsnof demonstrated experience in thendesign, installation, configuration, and supportnof routing/switching equipment and related protocols
n
- Experience analyzingnstandard operating procedures, guidelines, policies, and business processes
n
- Current certifications in technologies where GN has standardized on vendors such as:
n
- Cisconand/ornMitel
n
nAssets:n

- Project and contract administration experience in an enterprise IM/IT environment
n
- Exposure tonsatellite networks
n
