Carmangay School supports approximately 90 students from grades 7-12 and is located in the Village of Carmangay. Located 81 km north of the City of Lethbridge,

Carmangay School is an alternative public school for Low-German Mennonite families. Carmangay School is currently inviting motivated educators to apply for a Probationary Part-Time Grade 10-12 math and science teaching assignment starting August 21, 2026. Carmangay School gives it students opportunities to embrace their faith and culture, as well as skills they will need for life after high school.

nResponsibilities:n

- Establishes clear objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of Alberta Education, and communicates these objectives to students. Prepares for assigned classes, and demonstrates written evidence of preparation upon request. Prepares materials for learning, and classrooms for activities, as appropriate.n
n
- Instructs using a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for grade level, student needs and program focus. Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Assigns lessons and corrects homework.n
n
- Observes and evaluates students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.nPrepares, administers, and grades a variety of student evaluative tools such as projects, tests, assignments in order to evaluate students'n

progress. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required.

n

- Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order and safety among the students for whom they are responsible,



under the guidance of thenPrincipal. Enforces all administrative policies and rules governing students.

n

n
- Meets with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress. Confers with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to discuss children's progress and resource needs, and to resolve students'nbehavioral and academic problems, as appropriate.

n

n
- Confers with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula. Collaborates with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs. Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.nAttends staff meetings, and serves on staff committees as required.

- Prepares students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks. Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

n

Prepares and implements remedial programs for students requiring extra help. Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injury and damage. Provides special needs students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities such as restrooms, as necessary.

- Plans and supervises class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, as appropriate, and guides students in learning from such activities. Us
