Probationary Principal –

Bill Woodward School, Anzac, approximately 50 kilometres south of Fort McMurray.n

Start date: August 24, 2026.

Major Responsibilities
A passion for promoting educational success for Indigenous learners, especially in their language and culture. Fluency in language and experience in the culture would be an asset.
Will work closely with the school council and the community to build relationships in order to create a positive, inviting school setting that is integrated into the life of the community.
Will actively seek local partnerships to create cutting-edge program opportunities to engage and challenge students and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment.




Is a robust instructional leader who will work with staff to ensure that students have high‑quality learning experiences.
Leads by example and is active in the life of the community.

Qualifications and Requirements
Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Leadership Quality Standard certificate.
Must hold a Master’s degree or be willing to complete a Master’s degree within a mutually agreed‑upon timeline.
Has a minimum of five successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
