FINANCE OFFICER

Community Living North Bay is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Finance Officer. The Individual will report to the Manager, Quality, and Continuous Improvement. This role is a full-time permanent position based in North Bay, Ontario.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Finance Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining complete and accurate accounting records, this includes payroll processing and related functions. Responsible to conduct all financial transactions according to Community Living North Bay policies and to provide financial support to all Community Living North Bay management staff.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data;
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title and department transfers;
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability and non-taxable wages;
- Generate and issue customer invoices.
- Receive, review and process vendor invoices for accuracy and approval.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure proper coding.
- Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee source deductions and taxes, Employment Insurance, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board payments, etc.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information;




- Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests;
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting changes as required;
- Assist with People and Culture reports and data inputting as required.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON?

- You have experience in payroll processing.
- You have an accounting diploma and/or payroll certificate (or related discipline).
- You have 1-2 years’ experience in an electronic accounting environment.
- Proficiency in Sage (accounting software), Excel and Comvida (payroll software).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain long periods of concentration to complete daily tasks.
- Ability to critically analyze and summarize significant quantities of information.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and excellent time management skills.

COMPENSATION: $56,734.50 per annum plus benefits and pension

SCHEDULE: 37.5-hour work week - Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.
