Personal Support Worker - North Bay, Ontario - CAD$54.00/week

Caregiver Opportunity – North Bay, Ontario Schedule: Wednesdays, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (2 hours/visit) Location: North Bay, ON (Trout Lake area, seniors apartment building)

About the Client: This role supports a 71-year-old woman living independently in a one-bedroom apartment in a seniors building in North Bay. She is warm, chatty, and personable — she wants a caregiver who will genuinely engage with her, not just go through the motions. She already receives government-funded PSW support for showers twice a week, but needs supplemental private care to help with tasks her current PSW does not cover, including cooking, light housekeeping, and personal care assistance.

The client uses a walker and wears a medical leg brace that she cannot put on herself due to limited ability to bend forward. She is unable to cook for herself and currently relies primarily on fruit for nutrition — meal preparation is a key need. She lives alone; her sons live out of province. Her eldest son is her power of attorney and emergency contact. She has anxiety and strongly prefers a consistent, familiar caregiver — she does not want rotating or unfamiliar faces coming through her home. She is social and conversational and wants a caregiver who will engage genuinely during visits, not just work in silence. Female caregiver required. The client may occasionally need assistance getting to a medical appointment — helping her get to a vehicle or down to building entrance may be needed at times.

Responsibilities:

Meal preparation — cooking easy, nourishing meals during visits so the client has proper food for the day Brace assistance — helping the client put on her leg brace,



which she cannot fasten independently Light housekeeping — dusting, vacuuming, general tidying as time allows Laundry support — bringing laundry to and from the building's laundry room on the main floor as schedule allows; client can fold herself Grocery assistance — helping put away groceries when delivery arrives Companionship — genuine, engaged conversation and presence; client values warmth and connection over task completion alone Occasional appointment assistance — helping client get ready and to building entrance when she has outgoing appointments

What We're Looking For:

PSW certification or equivalent experience in personal support or companion care Warm, talkative, and genuinely engaging — this client wants a real connection, not a transactional visit Patient and consistent — anxiety means familiarity and reliability are essential; the same caregiver should attend each week Comfortable assisting with a medical brace and supporting a client who uses a walker Female caregiver required Located in or near North Bay (Trout Lake area) Non-smoker required — no smoking during visits

Schedule: Wednesdays, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (2 hours/visit). Three-month recurring schedule. The client is open to flexibility around exact timing if needed.
