Wildfire Security Officers - NWT

Starting $22.00 - $42.00/Hr - depending on experience, assignment requirements, work location, etc.

- We are looking for On-call casuals. No guaranteed hours, be ready to work full time if required, possibly for multi-week deployments.
- Shifts: 8-12 hours
- Per diem paid for travel days
- Meals provided on site for operational days
- Rural and remote wildfire camp security work

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Working at checkpoints or camps, with minimal guidance
- Wildfire perimeter access control including recording visitors coming and going from checkpoints
- Checking all vehicles entering/departing restricted areas
- Checking passes that have been issued by the local authorities (e.g. Regional District)
- Assisting law enforcement as required, including at checkpoints
- Cooperating with local EOC and other first responders and agencies at incident scenes
- Assistance with evacuations of people, livestock and property
- Coaching recent members when required

Required Qualifications:

- Valid Security Worker License in at least one of BC, Yukon, Alberta
- Class 5 driver's license
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of security service or related experience
- Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills
- Good physical fitness,



including the ability to lift up to 100 lbs and walk 5-7kms over uneven terrain during a regular shift.

Additional Assets:

- Previous experience in law enforcement or military
- Advanced First Aid/Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification
- Use of Force Certification (PPCT/CTSS)
