About the ReMove Project

Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties ReStore has launched the ReMove Project, an exciting new initiative, to the ReStore Program. This initiative offers a packing and removal service to residents within Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and Cornwall. This will be a fee-based service which will allow homeowners the peace of mind of having their unwanted items removed by a professional team of staff and volunteers. Under the direction of the ReMove Project Coordinator, the team will sort and organize items at the donation site, identifying items to be sold, recycled, donated to other community partners etc.

Through this service, we will divert sellable and reusable items from landfills and promote proper stewardship while maximizing donations which will directly result in helping us to partner with local families to create strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

ReMove Project Coordinator Position

Habitat for Humanity Cornwall is looking for an energetic and highly organized individual to lead this initiative, under the direction of the Executive Director. The ReMove Project Coordinator will be responsible for marketing this initiative to the community including qualified organizations such as realtors, lawyers, retirement residences, accountants, etc. They will be the first point of contact and main contact for donors interested in participating in this venture. They will train a select group of volunteers who will assist with the onsite sorting, packing and preparing of donations for transportation. Moving is often stressful for many people, and the ReMove Project Coordinator must be sensitive to the donor and the personal situations they are dealing with.

The successful candidate will engage the public daily assisting in the ReStore and will continue to promote the ReMove Project. With project development, the ReMove Project Coordinator is expected to recommend opportunities to enhance the structure of the ReMove Project to help further the mission of the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity. Leading by example, the ReMove Project Coordinator will be expected to identify, prioritize, adapt and be prepared to support the Habitat Team in any area.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

- Ability to build relationships and network in the community with private donors, small businesses and corporate prospects & partners to successfully promote the ReMove Project, the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity.
- Will participate in community events to promote the project and Habitat opportunities.
- Will be the first point and main contact for ReMove donors from start to finish. Will answer phones and provide information about the ReMove Project and the ReStore.
- Will schedule pick-ups and coordinate with other community partners.
- Responsible for identifying the fee for each individual ReMove Project and communicating with the Finance Department to ensure proper invoicing.
- Will ensure all tax receipts are mailed in a timely manner.
- Mentor and manage ReMove volunteers including scheduling shifts.
- Responsible for the wellbeing and safety of all staff and volunteers when onsite at a ReMove Project location and ensure appropriate steps are followed when safety concerns arise.
- Prioritize required tasks and expected to perform any role within the ReStore including driving both personal vehicle and Habitat truck, loading, cash handling, answering phones, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance online presence, awareness and sales. Leverage tools such as website, social media and other opportunities
- Be a positive, effective role model to staff, volunteers, students, donors and customers.
- Ensures effective communication between staff, volunteers and management including briefings and staff meetings while working with other departments.
- Ensures compliance with all reporting practices and timelines.
- The successful candidate will be a ReStore keyholder and will be a point of contact for the security alarm company and may need to respond to alarms outside of normal operating hours.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

- Highly organized, motivated and independent worker with experience in social services, marketing, communications, retail etc.
- Strong team player with exceptional work ethic. Experience working within a small, motivated team.
- Strong time management skills,



ability to prioritize while paying attention to detail and timelines.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle products of various size, shape and weight (50 lbs.)
- Must provide a clear criminal record, clear driving abstract, valid driver’s license and evidence of vehicle insurance, and the ability to obtain commercial insurance prior to the commencement of employment.
- First aid and CPR certifications and previous nonprofit work is strongly considered an asset.
- Must be able and willing to work some weekends and evenings with the flexibility to cover shifts when necessary.
- Strong belief in the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity
- Must be bilingual, fluent in English & French

Terms of Employment:

This is a full time permanent position offering 37.5 hours a week

Position reports directly to the ReStore Manager

This position is scheduled Tuesday to Saturday. Some evenings or alternative shifts may be required based on organizational needs.
