We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Bartender / Bar Lead to join the team at Shokunin, one of Calgary’s most distinctive dining experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven workplace and takes pride in delivering exceptional beverage experiences while supporting team development and bar operations.

What You’ll Do
Execute cocktails, sake, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and attention to detail
Deliver a high level of hospitality at the bar and support the floor team during service
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the bar at all times
Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate stock levels
Place and manage liquor, wine, and bar supply orders
Monitor product usage, minimize waste, and support cost control targets
Train, mentor,



and onboard new bartenders to Shokunin standards
Ensure all recipes, prep, and service standards are followed consistently
Collaborate with management on bar program execution and improvements
Handle guest interactions and feedback with professionalism and care

What We’re Looking For
3–4+ years of bartending experience in a quality-focused restaurant or bar
Leadership experience or readiness to step into a Bar Lead role
Robust knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, sake, and wine
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and team leadership skills
A passion for hospitality and guest experience
Experience with inventory systems and ordering processes is an asset
