Responsibilities:

- Performs preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on company mobile and stationary equipment.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment problems and determines repairs needed.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintain and services on company mobile and stationary equipment.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintains and services fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery.
- Repairs, overhauls, maintains and services drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering.
- Cleans, lubricates and performs other maintenance work.
- Determines extent of repairs required.
- Adjusts equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Tests repaired equipment for proper maintenance.
- Communicates the order of material/ parts required to complete repairs.
- Selects the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of the work.
- Operates all tools and equipment in accordance with CDLP safe work practices and procedures.
- Installs repaired parts into equipment, or installs new equipment.
- Dismantles machines or equipment, using hand tools and power tools,
in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Maintains daily records, including maintenance reports and documentation.
- May fill out permits on sites, when required.
- Able to go out on service calls and operate CDLP service truck in a safe manner according to CDLP driving policies and procedures.
- Cleans up work areas, equipment, supplies and materials. Applies standard housekeeping practices and procedures.
- Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner according to CDLP policies and procedures.
- Must wear, and participate in the ongoing training of, the required PPE for this position.
- Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
- May assist, lead and train, or instruct, others in the work.
- Provide quality customer service to our external and internal customers.
- Lead by example with integrity.
- Other tasks and special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the performance of mechanic work as assigned.
- Ability to troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Ability to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- Ability to test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Ability to analyze and problem solve.
- Knowledge of record keeping systems.
- Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
- Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.
- Ability to coordinate work flow for multiple projects.
- Knowledge of operation of company heavy equipment.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work extended shifts, weekend work and overtime as required.
- Knowledge of HSE Manual, safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work.
- Ability to be fit tested for respirator equipment annually.
- Ability to identify and implement effective courses of action to complete assigned work.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions and provide feedback as required.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work.
- Able to coordinate work assignments with other workers, divisions or departments.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of mechanic experience.
- Licensed Mechanic Certification.
- Provincial or Red Seal training certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
- Pre-Employment Testing.
- Clean drivers abstract, class 5.
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
