General Labourer / Confined Space Monitor (Temporary)

About Our Client

Our client is a prominent Canadian construction leader currently managing a critical infrastructure project on Vancouver Island. This initiative focuses on significant wastewater treatment expansion and long-term environmental system improvements for the Parksville and French Creek regions.

What You Will Be Doing, as a General Labourer / Confined Space Monitor:

- Confined Space Monitoring (60%): Oversee safety compliance, manage permit control, and track personnel entry/exit in restricted areas.
- General Labour (40%): Perform essential site maintenance, cleanup, and material handling.
- Trade Support: Assist various skilled trades and move equipment or supplies to ensure seamless project flow.
- Safety Oversight: Maintain a vigilant presence to ensure all confined space activities adhere to strict provincial safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.

What You Should Have, as a General Labourer / Confined Space Monitor:

- Valid Confined Space Certification (BC standard 8-hour in-person course required).
- Proven reliability and consistency for a 3-6 month project commitment.
- Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Type 2 hard hat, Hi-Vis vest (Yellow/Orange), 6-inch CSA work boots, Level 5 cut-proof gloves, and safety glasses.
- Robust attention to detail regarding safety documentation and tracking.
- Ability to follow complex verbal and written safety instructions.
- Must pass a criminal background check.

In Return, You Will Receive:

- $22.00 to $24.00 per hour (depending on experience).
- Weekly pay every Friday.
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out as needed.
- Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends.
- Opportunity to work on a high-profile,



multi-year infrastructure project.

The Shift You Will be Working is:

- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM start (Standard 8-hour day shift)

Where You Will Be Working, as a General Labourer / Confined Space Monitor:

- (Parksville / French Creek area).
- Note: This site is approximately 20-30 minutes outside of Nanaimo; reliable personal transportation is required.
