Role Summary
Emmanuel Arnprior Anglican Church is looking to contract a Custodian to provide relevant services at the church, located at 287 Harrington St. in Arnprior, Ontario.

Reports To
The Custodian shall provided services to the Property Manager, who has been appointed by the leadership of the church (i.e., Incumbent and Wardens) to oversee this position.

Responsibilities and Duties
The Custodian is to ensure that the church building is well-maintained, safe, and welcoming by completing the following activities on the frequency noted:

Sanctuary, Narthex/Main Entrance, and Counting Room:

- Wash floor weekly
- Vacuum carpet biweekly, and dust window sills and pews biweekly (alternate)

Parish Hall and Kitchen:

- Sweep floor as required, wash floors weekly (some discretion may be applied)
- Clean windows on doors as required

Back Storage Room:

- General clean up (ongoing)
- Prepare garbage and recycling weekly; gather from all waste basket locations

Parish Hall Entrance and Lobby:

- Clean doors and windows as required
- Vacuum hall entrance and wash granite floor weekly
- Vacuum carpets weekly
- Sweep choir room weekly

Offices (Rector and Admin)

- Vacuum carpet weekly
- Wash interoffice windows as required

Washrooms

- Clean sinks, mirrors, toilets, floor weekly
- Restock supplies as needed

Custodian Storage Area

- Identify supplies required
- Maintain clean floors and storage space
- Wash wet mops after use
- Clean dry mops with shop vac after use
- Empty all vacuum cleaners as required

Skills and Competencies

- Ontario Secondary School diploma (or equivalent).
- Previous cleaning or maintenance experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.




- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Knowledge of and compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Proactive and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to lift 25 kgs and climb stairs and ladders as required.
- Ability to use maintenance materials and equipment safely.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays.

Conditions

- The Custodian will be contracted by the church using an Independent Contractor Agreement (and will therefore not be an employee of the church).
- The Custodian, as a requirement to deliver the services, agrees to provide the church with an up-to-date Criminal Record Check (please refer to https://www.opp.ca/index.php?id=147&lng;=en for further details)
- The Custodian, as a requirement to deliver the services, further agrees to provide proof of general liability insurance with a coverage of no less than $2 million.

Compensation
The Custodian will be paid $600 (plus HST) for their services per month, and will be reimbursed for the actual cost of any supplies which are restocked by the Custodian.
