Due to expanding markets and investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities, we currently have an opening for a CNC Project Coordinator role in our Elmira, ON office. The CNC Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of technical project data from engineering through to production, with a focus on 3D models, STEP (.stp/.step) and DSTV (.nc) file integration, and manufacturing readiness. This role ensures that project deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with fabrication requirements while coordinating across engineering, production, procurement, and project management teams.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this primarily on-site role is responsible for:
- Manage and organize project-related 3D models, including STEP and DSTV files, drawings, and associated documentation.
- Review and validate incoming models for completeness, manufacturability, and alignment with project specifications.
- Ensure proper conversion and compatibility of STEP and DSTV files for CNC-driven fabrication equipment.
- Coordinate between Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Project Management to ensure project readiness.
- Ensure all required documentation (drawings, BOMs, CNC files, cut lists)
is complete prior to shop release and scheduled into Steel Projects for manufacturing to run.
- Align CNC programs with available material stock and specifications, support material optimization efforts, including nesting and length utilization.
- Identify and escalate risks related to incomplete or conflicting technical data.
- Support continuous improvement in digital workflows and data integration processes.
- Initiate communication with internal and external stakeholders to gather and validate technical data.
- Manage file conversion workflows (STEP / DSTV outputs) ensuring compatibility with shop equipment.
- Validate material specifications, tolerances, hole locations, and machining requirements prior to release.
- Work with CNC programming teams to ensure DSTV files align with machine capabilities.
- Maintain alignment between CAD models, BOMs, and ERP Visual systems.
- Support implementation of standardized processes for model-based manufacturing.
- Prepare reports, track project readiness, and provide status updates.
- Identify inefficiencies in data flow and recommend improvements.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering coordination an asset, but not required.
- Direct experience working with STEP and DSTV file formats.
- Experience with CNC-based manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with industrial machinery and production processes, including those used for steel structure fabrication (cutting, forming, punching, drilling, welding and galvanizing).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to analyze technical data and resolve inconsistencies.
- Effective cross-functional communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Structured, process-driven mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Salary range for this position is expected to be between $50,000 and $65,000 depending on experience and qualifications and could be suitable for a new grad. Candidates must be located in Canada and legally eligible to work here.
