River location is looking for a Health Physicist to provide technical support, developing and implementing elements of the RP compliance program. Apply today! What will you be doing! Developing and implementing of RP controls, processes and procedures.

n

Completing radiological safety and dose assessments. Performing ALARA and post-work ALARA assessments and reviews. Reviewing and approving requests to release material and personnel involved in contamination events out of the Controlled Area.

Documenting justification and ALARA reviews for exceptions to RP Program requirements for review and approval by the RP Program Manager. Responding to, investigating, and performing follow up to RP related unplanned events. Providing recommendations on scoping, characterization and release radiological surveys consistent with the RP Program.

n

Providing training and presentations on RP topics. Providing HP technical support aiding RP Program development & establishment of requirements. Monitoring RP related non-conformances and corrective actions and performing RP compliance inspections.

Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking

n

For

n

Education A Bachelor degree (Honours) in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing (e.g. nuclear engineering, medical physics,



health physics); or membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership.

n

Experience Must have five years experience as a health physicist. Previously, or currently, qualified as a Group 1 Health Physicist in CNL is an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of recommendations and guidelines of radiological protection standards.

n

Knowledge and understanding of radiation protection philosophies, procedures, equipment and techniques used both in radiological theory and radiation protection practice. Previous knowledge, and experience with their implementation, of the relevant transport regulations (including overseas and inter-province) for radioactive material by air, rail and road. Excellent writing skills applied to producing reports and correspondence.

Robust interpersonal skills with the ability to respect confidential employee information (e.g. pregnancy status, bioassay results, dose information, etc.). Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” OR Working Conditions Working schedule:



Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
