The Farmer’s Market Manager is responsible for all aspects of organizing and running the Houston Farmers Market. This position will also administer the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon program with the HLL Manager and other program staff. The Market Manager reports to the HLL Manager.

Duties of the Manager.

n

Coordinate the Farmers Market to operate from first Friday in June to the last Friday in September.

n

Promote the Farmers Market to vendors, customers, and the community.

n

Manage the logistics of running the market.

n

Use various advertising tools to promote the market including regular social media posts.

n

Responsible for running the Nutrition Coupon program

n

Responsible for weekly reporting to BCAFM as the Farmers Market and as a Community Partner.

n

Responsible for ensuring that all necessary supplies are on site.

n

General Duties

nAttend job related in-services, workshops and meetings as required.n

Maintain statistical records of all activities.

n

Attend staff meetings

nMaintain confidentiality at all timesn

Participates in program evaluation.

n

Perform other related tasks and duties as required.

n

Qualifications and Qualities required:

n

- Must have completed Grade 12.
n
- Must be a people person and have a genuine interest in working at the market.
n
- Excellent English skills.
n




- Excellent Computer skills including word and excel.
n
- Excellent skills in using social media to promote the market.
n
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
n
- Ability to work independently.
n
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team workplace.
n
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
n
- Must have a valid Drivers license and access to a vehicle.
n

nPosition term:n12 hours per weekn

Starts May 27, 2025, to Oct 3, 2025. subject to probation and funding.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

nStarting at $22.00 per hourn
