DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:
The Children’s Summer Support Program offers support to children 4-12 years of age who have an intellectual disability while they participate in a day camp program, facilitating their inclusion into the setting. Children attend programs throughout Mississauga operated by the City of Mississauga’s Recreation & Parks Division and other day camps in Mississauga.

Description of Duties

The Supervisor of the CSSP will coordinate a schedule for staff and the children, supervise a team of staff, facilitate weekly staff meetings, assist in staff training, carry out administrative and record-keeping responsibilities, prepare a final report and above all, promote the inclusion of the children into the camp setting. The supervisor must be comfortable providing personal care support, participating in all activities with the children including swimming,



and be physically fit to perform the essential duties of the job including performing lifts and transfers as necessary.

Qualifications

Developmental Services Worker Diploma or enrolled and actively pursuing this diploma
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
Valid driver's license and use of a car
Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate
Supervisory experience is an asset

ASSET:
Aptitude to learn quickly and independently
Valuable verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude along with excellent teamwork

Equivalency

Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, or a university degree in a related discipline
Have experience working or volunteering with people who have an intellectual disability
