Our client, a small and growing distribution company, is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accountant (Contract 50; temporary to permanent) to join their team. This is a newly created role with an immediate hiring timeline, offering strong potential for long-term placement. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and compliance while working closely with leadership in a highly interactive role. You will play a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting cross-functional operations, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting processes within a small team.

Responsibilities:

- Manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Lead month-end close processes,



ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns
- Maintain and analyze financial records and ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with various departments to support financial operations across the business
- Assist with improving accounting processes and internal controls
- Support ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed

Qualifications:

- Working toward a CPA designation or demonstrating strong aptitude toward achieving one
- Proven experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close
- Familiarity with Quick Books is an asset but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a small team environment
- Ability to start on short notice is highly preferred
