As a Traction Power Engineer, you will contribute to the design and performance of traction power systems that move communities safely and sustainably. Your work will help advance high‑impact transit infrastructure across Canada.

Your Impact
Conduct AC and DC traction power studies, including load flow, fault analysis, arc flash, and protection coordination.
Interpret study results to guide technical decisions and ensure compliance with Canadian and international standards.
Prepare, review, and validate engineering drawings, technical calculations, and specifications.
Develop grounding and bonding designs aligned with CSA, IEEE, and safety requirements.
Identify and address risks related to DC stray current corrosion and EMI/EMC.
Collaborate across signaling, track, OCS, rolling stock, and civil disciplines for integrated system design.
Participate in constructability reviews, risk assessments, and multidisciplinary design reviews.
Support QA/QC processes to ensure high‑quality technical deliverables.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; master's an asset.
Licensed P.Eng.
in Ontario or eligible for licensure.
5+ years of experience in traction power engineering for rail or transit systems.
Robust understanding of AREMA, CSA, EN, IEEE, and related standards.
Proficiency with traction power modeling tools and system analysis software.
Experience designing within multidisciplinary environments and large‑scale transit projects.
Strong technical writing skills for reports, analyses, and specifications.

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:
$98,800 – $130,800 MB & ON:
$90,100 – $124,100 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC:
$89,200 – $118,500
