Cecil Community Centre is a not-for-profit, multi-service neighbourhood Centre that offers a broad range of recreational, educational, social, cultural and capacity-building programs to local area residents. For over 40 years, the Centre has played a vital role in the lives of community members of all ages. Our Centre provides programs and services for children, youth, adults and seniors.

As a Leaders in Training Facilitator, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and executing the Leader-in-Training (LIT) program. Providing leadership development opportunities for 13 to 16 year-old participants. The LIT Facilitator will support, nurture and develop the LIT participants to allow for a smooth transition from camper to staff member, and will ensure that camp is a protected inclusive environment by encouraging self-esteem, stewardship, and servanthood. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as experience in supervising and recruiting.

Leaders in Training Facilitator Responsibilities:

· Work in collaboration with the Children and Youth Program Manger to provide an engaging L-I-T program for participants

· Create a manual specifically for the L-I-T Program

· Develop and implement a four- five week leadership program for 13- to 16-year-old LIT participants, once in July and once in August

·Design, prepare, lead and oversee daily sessions/activities with LIT participants that develop leadership skills (i.e., group dynamics, empathic listening, communication, inclusion, etc.)





· Supervise and direct all students/volunteers assigned to work with the L-I-T program to lead group activities and other L-I-T staff duties

·Responsible for health and well-being of self, camp volunteers and L-I-T Participants

·Report all difficulties (emergencies) related to health, safety, behavior and other problems immediately to the Children and Youth Program Manger

· Assist the Children and Youth Program Manager with family/parent communications (e.g., pre-program contact, email updates, phone calls to new LIT participant families, behavioral phone calls, etc.)

· Perform administrative duties including maintaining LIT program records, completing a final report, conducting an end of season review, and offering suggestions for future camp seasons

· Perform other duties and roles assigned by the Children and Youth Program Manger

Leaders in Training Facilitator Requirements:

- Previous experience as a Camp Director/Leader in community based youth programs is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (Required)
- Ability to pass a background check (Required)

Hours and Wages: 35 hours per week; $17.50 - 20.55 per hour. This is a 9 week contract (June 29 to August 28, 2026) Applicants should be 16-30 years old and eligible to work in Canada.
