The local physician group is hiring inpatient care physicians to provide part‑time or locum inpatient care at Saanich Peninsula Hospital (SPH), a 65‑bed acute care community hospital. Family medicine inpatient care is a highly valued and rewarding service.
SPH has an 18‑bed emergency department and provides care to approximately 31,000 patients per year. The hospital serves a population of roughly 87,000. Tertiary care support is available via nearby hospitals, and imaging, laboratory, and CT services operate 07:30‑24:00 daily, plus overnight call.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage to a range of inpatients, including high acuity, palliative/end‑of‑life care, rehabilitation‑focused, and dementia care.
- Work versatile shifts, with a minimum of six weeks per year.
- Optional locum work in clinics on the Saanich Peninsula and, if desired,
in the emergency department within the scope of a family physician.
- Experience in palliative care, MAiD, or long‑term care considered an asset.
