Albert is recruiting 2 individuals to join our Policing Services department as Front Counter Clerks.
Reporting to the Policing Communications Supervisor, these positions will be responsible for greeting visitors, receiving service requests from the public, and providing, gathering, and disseminating information. Qualifications High School Diploma combined with three (3) years of related experience. Previous customer service and cash handling experience is required, preferably in a police environment. Previous experience using RCMP programs including ROSS, PROS, ciids and CPIC is an asset. Working knowledge of the program Tempest is preferred. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. The successful incumbent must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a variety of customer needs. Responsibilities Receiving in-person requests for service and complaints on behalf of the RCMP and Municipal Enforcement service. Monitoring building access by identifying and documenting all visitors in a logbook and issuing visitor passes. Ensuring accuracy and processing of Criminal Record Check applications. Accepting and processing payment for, but not limited to, parking tickets,
impounded dogs, dog licenses, alarm permits, criminal record checks, and fingerprinting. Reconcile daily cash receipts to register reports and prepare the daily deposits for the bank. Fingerprint clients and complete letter/certificate for fingerprint results. Act as a main contact for the St.
Albert Detachment as it relates to all fingerprinting processes including electronic fingerprint submissions of Criminal fingerprints. Performing other tasks as assigned. Hours of Work We offer an average of 20 hours per week, with weekly hours varying based on operational needs. Shifts are scheduled on a rotating basis from Monday to Saturday, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., including regular Saturday work. Compensation The wage ranges from $29.87 - $36.32 per hour, including a comprehensive benefits package with a flexible spending account, pension plan, and accrued paid vacation. Employees can purchase an annual Recreation Access Pass for $87 + tax, granting unlimited access to Servus Credit Union Place (excluding PLAYcare and registered programs), Fountain Park Recreation Centre, and Grosvenor Outdoor Pool. Conditions of Employment This position is represented by the Union CUPE 5141,
and the terms and conditions of employment are governed by the collective agreement between the Union and The City of St.
Albert. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and qualified credentials.
