A small well-established Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing/Sprinklers) engineering firm in Langley is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our team.

ITEC Systems Design Ltd. was formed in 1976 and specializes in mechanical engineering and consulting services for new builds, design build, tenant improvements and renovations for commercial, institutional, medical, religious, recreational, multi-residential, restaurant and school buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

May include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned depending on need and capability.

- Responsible for HVAC and/or plumbing design, layout (including AutoCAD) and coordination with other trades for the assigned projects.

- Preparation of engineering calculations including load calculations/duct and pipe sizing.

- Equipment sizing and selection.

- Coordination with other design team members including the architect and the electrical and structural engineers to ensure mechanical systems are integrated with all disciplines.

- Coordination with Contractors during project tender and construction phases.

- Attend project meetings and conduct site reviews.

- Commitment to meeting project deadlines.

Education and/or Experience

- Applicable post-secondary education. Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist or Degree is preferred, but not essential.

- A minimum of 2+ years direct Canadian industry experience or equivalent working experience is required.

- Knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD





- Knowledge of and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Working knowledge of HAP load calculations software.

- Experience in fire sprinklers design and hydraulic calculations is an asset.

Compensation/Benefits

- ITEC offers a competitive salary. Salary to align with experience.

- Extended health and benefits package.

- 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, with the option for Flexible Friday hours – depending on the workload and project scheduling.

- Option for hybrid in office and work from home schedule after the probation period or it is determined that the candidate can work independently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
