As a Deli Clerk at Ucluelet Co-op, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized service to our valued members. We prioritize establishing strong relationships with our members and fostering an environment that encourages their continued patronage. We are seeking a positive, dependable individual with a professional approach and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve hot and cold deli items, including slicing meats, assembling platters, and following standardized recipes.
- Operate deli equipment such as ovens and fryers while maintaining food quality and safety standards (including FIFO procedures).
- Receive, inspect, store, and merchandise products; manage pricing, dating, and inventory control, including third-party vendor deliveries.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the Co-op and government regulations.
- Advise the manager when orders for replenishment of inventory are required and ensure proper mark-down reports
- Perform receiving duties when required
- Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
- Be dependable on all scheduled shifts
- Provide outstanding courteous customer service
- Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Previous food preparation experiences an asset
- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team workplace
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Working Conditions:

- Flexibility in scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing

Wage: $18.73 – $22.99 per hour, based on experience.
