As a Meat Clerk at Ucluelet Co-op, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized service to our valued members. We prioritize establishing strong relationships with our members and fostering an environment that encourages their continued patronage. Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Inspect all received goods to ensure the quality and completeness of the order, and when required order and receive products. Maintain shelf and display stock and organize all goods intended for sale to meet established standards. Update and maintain an accurate and proper markdown report.
- Performs housekeeping duties to keep sales and back-stock areas safe, clean, and organized. Maintains tools and equipment, disposes of garbage and debris, assists with regular cleanups, and reports any concerns to the team leader.
- Perform receiving duties when required
- Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
- Be dependable on all scheduled shifts
- Provide outstanding courteous customer service
- Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in meat handling, retail, or food service is an asset.
- Knowledge of meat cuts, storage, and safe handling procedures is an asset.




- Ability to operate meat cutting equipment safely (slicers, saws, grinders) is an asset.
- Previous experience in customer service role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Working Conditions:

- Flexibility in scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing

Wage: $19.53 – $22.99 per hour, based on experience.
