Early Years Teacher

Royal Oak School is a small independent school located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

ROCS is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Early Years Teacher to teach in our classrooms full-time starting in the Fall of 2026. This is a full-time contract with a generous RRSP and benefits package.

To be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
Hold a Bachelor Degree in Education with a valid OCT certificate
Minimum experience of 1 year working with children aged 4 - 12 years old in a classroom setting
Interest in Inquiry-based learning and Career development
Valid Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable sector screening
Display strong leadership and communication skills
Be able to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment
Professional, mature, warm, patient and nurturing
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with confidence
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to teach in both large and small groups.
Creativity and independence in lesson planning
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution





Special Considerations will be given to candidates who:
Hold a MA in Child Education or Teaching
Have additional courses/training in child pedagogy and development
Experience working with children - 5+ years
A candidate who is enthusiastic about becoming a member of an expanding school program and community

Hours of Work & Responsibilities to consider:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Participation in staff meeting and professional developments, as well as school events and fundraisers are mandatory
Attending after school/ weekend events (i.e. open houses, etc) when needed.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
