Under the direction of the Program Manager of Psychological Services and Behavioural Analysts, or designate, the Behaviour Analyst (BA) determines and executes a service plan which is equitable, inclusive and culturally- relevant for students with challenging behaviours. The BA supports school teams in the form of consultation, coaching and modeling for the purpose of integrating the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to meet the needs of students (all age levels). This will include working with students, school staff, parent/guardians and community agencies. In addition to their clinical responsibilities, the BA engages in discipline and District initiatives in order to contribute to the advancement of evidence-based BA practice for students. The BA fulfills all professional responsibilities in accordance with the Regulated Health Professional Act, CPO guidelines, Ministry Directives, and the District’s policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile
n
Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field is required. Certification in BCBA is required. Must be registered in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular those who have autism spectrum disorders. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Major Responsibilities
n
- Working with students, school staff, parents/guardians and community agencies;
- Working in collaboration with central teams;
- Gathering, recording, and analyzing data (e.g., formal, informal, observational, etc.) to inform next steps and strategies for students with ASD and/or challenging behaviours;
- Designing, developing and delivering professional development for school board staff at all levels; and
- May also be assigned to special projects as assigned by the Program Manager of Psychological Services and Behavioural Analysts, or designate.

Required Skills And Abilities
n
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting; gathering, evaluating, and analyzing information from a range of sources including consultation with parents/guardians, group homes, school staff, central staff, and community agencies;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Time management, and prioritization skills to service multiple sites, ensure timely assessments and reports;
- Computer literacy and knowledge and application of on-line learning;
- Knowledge and understanding of school board policies and procedures; and,
- Knowledge of Ministry of Education directives and the current Ontario curriculum.
