BGC Saskatoon (BGCS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children and youth in Saskatoon and has been offering programs in Saskatoon and surrounding areas since 1974. We believe that “Opportunity Changes Everything” and that all children should have the opportunity to participate in quality programs right in their own community. BGC Saskatoon employs a group of dedicated staff and volunteers to work with children, youth, and families, delivering programs in the following service areas:

- Early Learning Centres
- Before and After School Programs
- Neighborhood Clubs
- Summer Day Camps
- Youth Employment Program
- Rosewater Connection Mental Health Initiatives

Position OverviewReporting to the Director of Finance, The Human Resource (HR) Generalist at BGC Saskatoon supports the organization’s mission by delivering comprehensive human resources services across the employee lifecycle. This role leads full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including coordination of hiring documentation and orientation, maintenance of employee HR records, and the administration of BGC Saskatoon benefit programs. The HR Generalist provides guidance on employee relations matters, supports workplace investigations, and supports management teams on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices. The HR Generalist models BGC Saskatoon’s core values and fosters an inclusive, respectful, and engaging environment. The HR Generalist represents BGC Saskatoon by maintaining a positive and professional attitude while upholding the organization's mission, vision, and core values. This is a full-time position that is eligible for the full benefits package provided by BGC Saskatoon and may require work outside of normal business hours to support events, meetings, and community initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Recruitment & Onboarding

- Lead end-to-end recruitment for all positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, and supporting managers with interviewing applicants and employee selection.
- Coordinate recent hire documentation, offer letters, and employment contracts.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding, orientation, and integration of new employees.
- Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) Administration
- Prepare and submit SINP applications and related documentation with support of managers/directors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration legislation, policies,



and timelines affecting foreign workers in Saskatchewan.

Employee & Workplace Support

- Provide guidance and support to management and employees in navigating employee matters
- Maintain employee HR files using the organization’s HRIS.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching to leaders on disciplinary matters.
- Support leadership roles to manage investigations into workplace complaints and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) at BGC Saskatoon, ensuring compliance with Saskatchewan employment, health, and safety legislation.
- Coordinates incident reporting and investigations, supports injury management and return-to-work programs, and ensures appropriate documentation, training, and follow-up are completed.
- Monitors workplace hazards, supports safety training and orientation, communicates safety expectations to employees, and fosters a culture of shared responsibility for workplace health and safety.

- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment that supports employee engagement and belonging.
- Lead initiatives to recognize and celebrate employee achievements and milestones.
- Support the development and ongoing evolution of the organization’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP), ensuring it authentically reflects the employee experience and aligns with organizational values and culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement culture-building activities, events, and communications.
- Monitor workplace climate and employee morale, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion principles are embedded in recruitment, policies, and day-to-day practices.
- Encourage open communication and feedback channels between employees and management.

HR Programs, Policies & Compliance

- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with organizational objectives and employment legislation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant organizational policy, employment standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and human rights regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR documentation.

Career Planning & Development

- Partner with management to identify organizational training needs and/ or career development opportunities
- Support managers in creating employee development plans and performance goals.

Perks Administration

- Administer group benefits programs, including enrolment, changes, and terminations.
- Act as the primary liaison with benefits providers.





Terminations & Offboarding

- Coordinate voluntary and involuntary terminations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Conduct exit interviews as requested and analyze trends to support retention initiatives.

KEY REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR degree preferred).
- HR generalist experience, including end-to-end HR responsibilities.
- CPHR designation or working toward designation is considered an asset.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, conflict resolution, and policy development.
- In-depth knowledge of Saskatchewan Employment Standards, human rights legislation, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and provide actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Thorough attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policy and regulations.
- This position is located in Saskatoon, and while occasional work from home is permitted, this position is expected to be in office full time.
