Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, this position plays a key role in shaping the organization's culture, employee experience, and overall people strategy. As a trusted internal advisor, this role provides guidance and expertise to leaders and employees on a wide range of human resources matters. As an experienced generalist, the incumbent plays a critical role in delivering high-quality People & Culture services, contributing to a positive employee experience, and enhancing the effectiveness of people practices across the company.This is an on-site position located at 1340 Brant Street, Burlington. Burlington Hydro offers eligible employees the flexibility to work remotely one (1) day per week as part of our Hybrid Work from Home Program.What You Will DoManage the day-to-day delivery of People & Culture programs, including performance management, talent development, engagement initiatives, and employee experience programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legislative requirementsManage full-cycle recruitment and support hiring managers in assessing talent needsProvide leadership support in labour and employee relations matters, including research, documentation, interpretation of policies and collective agreements, and preparation of recommendationsConduct and support workplace investigations, documentation, and resolution processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and adherence to legislative and organizational requirementsSupport collective bargaining preparation and related labour relations initiativesDevelop, update, and interpret HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legislation, corporate policies, and collective agreementsMonitor and ensure adherence to employment legislation and regulatory requirements, including ESA, OHRC, WSIB, Occupational Health & Safety, and company policiesPrepare, analyze, and interpret data, metrics, and dashboards to identify trends and support strategic decision‐makingDrive organizational culture initiatives,



employee engagement and change management strategies that promote inclusion, collaboration, and innovationDevelop people communication, ensuring consistency, clarity and alignment with People & Culture initiativesManage the administration of employee leaves, including WSIB, disability, accommodations, and return-to-work processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, timely case coordination, and effective communication with employees and leadersSupport organizational design activities, including job analysisWork in compliance with all safe work practices, technical specifications, standards, and rules/regulations as set out by the Company, the MOL, IHSA, ESA, CSA, and other applicable authoritiesAll other duties as assignedWhat We Are Looking ForPost‐secondary degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce or a related fieldCertified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designationMinimum five (5) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least three (3) years of labour relations experience in a unionized environmentSolid HR generalist background with strong critical thinking and demonstrated experience in people analytics and reporting, including the ability to interpret and communicate insights from dataExperience with HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce considered an asset) and a strong level of technical proficiencyWhat You'll Need to Be SuccessfulStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organizationProficient in MS Office applications and HRIS systemsSound analytical, organizational, and problem‐solving abilitiesStrong knowledge of employment legislation, human rights, and health and safety requirementsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detailProfessionalism, discretion, tact, and confidentiality in handling sensitive informationWho We AreSince 1945, Burlington Hydro has been powering the growth of Burlington with reliability, empathy and innovation.
