[email protected] The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a term position for Labourer in the Infrastructure Maintenance Department of Public Works & Utilities. This is a 6 month term with a possible extension.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Operation of Class 5 vehicles
n
- Perform various labouring duties
n
- Operate a City vehicle for the purpose of transporting employees and equipment to work sites, as well to assist on multi-function trucks
n
- Operate various small equipment related to City construction and maintenance projects such as sewer cleaning machine, quickie saws, etc.
n
- Assist in training of other employees as required
n
- Assist with maintenance on regular program areas,
which may include but are not limited to hydrant maintenance, valve exercising, etc.
n
- Responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding and abiding by City of Moose Jaw Safety Policy, applicable Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety legislation as well as any other appropriate regulatory standards
n
- Work in such a way as to not endanger themselves, fellow employees or the general public
n
- Observe all traffic rules and regulations when traveling to and from the work site and set out necessary warning signs
n
- Work weekends and shift work as required
n

Qualifications
nn
- Able to write and pass Level 1 Wastewater Collection and Level 1 Water Distribution System exams
n
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labour
n
- Class 5 driver's license, eligible for coverage under the City's insurance policy
n
- Ability to obtain certification for: Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, First Aid & CPR, Fall Protection, Flagman’s, Confined Space, H2S and Protected Trenching & Excavating
n
- Ability to work in a harmonious manner with supervisors, co-workers and the general public
n
