RECE / ECE – Early Childhood Educator (1 Year Contract, Possible Extension)

Earth Kidz Early Learning Centre is currently seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team of passionate, energetic, and dedicated childcare professionals. Our educators are committed to providing high-quality care and early learning experiences that support the development and well-being of every child.
Our centre participates in the CWELCC program, and we are committed to maintaining a professional, supportive, and collaborative environment for our educators.
This position is offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of extension based on operational needs and performance.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong support and commitment to the mission and core values of the Centre
- Understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
- Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? and ELECT frameworks
- Provide high-quality care that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children
- Demonstrate ability to work in mixed-age group settings
- Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs in collaboration with other educators
- Observe, document, and assess children’s development
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians through regular and professional communication
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment
- Perform other reasonable duties as required
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or eligible for registration
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months, or willingness to obtain one prior to employment
- Ability to provide immunization documentation and TB test clearance as required under applicable public health regulations upon hire
- Minimum one year experience in a licensed childcare centre preferred
- Resume and two professional references
- Fluency in French is considered an asset

Working Conditions
- Work in various environments including busy classroom settings, outdoor play areas, and occasional community outings
- Work in a dynamic childcare environment which may at times be busy and noisy due to children's activities and group play
- Extended periods of standing
- Ability to work within a child-centered environment including floor activities and child-sized furniture
- Lifting and carrying moderately heavy items (up to approximately 30–40 lbs)
- Ability to communicate effectively with families from diverse backgrounds by phone, email, and in person
- Interaction with staff, management, and the public
- Occasional overtime may be required
- Exposure to common childhood illnesses and occasional contact with bodily fluids (e.g., blood, vomit, nasal discharge) in accordance with health and safety protocols

Pay: From $26.92 per hour
