You’ll provide key administrative support, general information, guidance and assistance to those making applications to the Committee of Adjustment. Your participation in activities relating to the planning section will directly impact the function of the Committee – and help create a workplace where people want to stay and grow.

How You’ll Support the Team
In this role, you will:
- Perform all of the statutory functions relating to the Committee of Adjustment as its Secretary Treasurer, ensuring that all legislative requirements under the appropriate legislation are followed, and act as recording Secretary at monthly Committee hearings.
- Prepare notices, decisions, and agreements that may be required as conditions of Committee of Adjustment Approvals.
- Undertake a broad spectrum of projects relating to planning activities and policy development.
- Provide information to the public and the development community on matters relating to land use planning.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
Here’s what will help you succeed as a Secretary Treasurer – Committee of Adjustment:
- Degree in planning; and at least two years of land use planning experience; or
- Degree in related discipline (i.e. geography) combined with two years of related land use planning experience preferably in a municipal setting; or
- Degree in an unrelated discipline (i.e. history, political science, architecture, communications, business administration, etc.) combined with three years related land use planning experience preferably in a municipal environment; or
- College diploma in real estate law (i.e. law clerk) or planning technology with five years of planning technician experience or real estate law clerk experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a working knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act and other related provincial legislation

Job Specific Information:
Should this temporary vacancy be filled by a regular full-time employee, seniority and benefits will continue in the normal manner and the regular employee will continue to maintain normal, full-time status for the duration of the appointment.
If it becomes known that the position is permanent, it will be reposted and filled in the normal fashion.
