Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and organized Construction Field Representative to support the deployment of fiber optic infrastructure. This role works closely alongside Telus Sales Representatives, following up with homeowners to clearly explain the construction process involved in running fiber optic cable to the side of their home.
The Construction Field Representative plays a key role in ensuring homeowners understand the installation plan and are comfortable with the proposed cable routing prior to construction. This role offers motivated individuals the opportunity to earn a strong hourly income, with performance-based bonuses. The more homeowners you successfully guide through and sign off on the construction process, the higher your earning potential.
Responsibilities
- Follow behind Telus Sales Representatives to meet with homeowners who have expressed interest in fiber optic services to explain basic construction process.
- Clearly explain the construction process of running fiber optic cable to the side of the home.
- Professionally answer homeowner questions and address concerns regarding installation procedures.
- Map out the proposed wire route on an iPad with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Obtain homeowner approval and signature for the installation plan so construction crews can proceed.
- Maintain organized and accurate digital records of mapped layouts and signed approvals.
- Communicate effectively with the construction team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Travel independently to assigned construction areas within the Kitchener region.
Requirements
- Must own a personal vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Willing and able to drive personal vehicle to various work sites within Kitchener.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with homeowners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable using an iPad and digital mapping tools.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in customer service, construction coordination, field work, or sales is considered an asset.
- Must be willing to complete a background check.
Compensation
- Commission of $13 per signed homeowner on construction mapping
