Seasonal | January–March | Camp Project | 24 Days On / 4 Days Off

Val’s Drilling is seeking an experienced Nightshift Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor to lead field operations during our winter drilling program. This is a camp-based position on a 24-days-on, 4-days-off rotation.

We’re looking for a mechanically inclined, confident leader with an excellent understanding of geotechnical and environmental drilling. The successful candidate will take ownership of the shift, support the crew, and work closely with client representatives to keep operations safe, organized, and productive.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate nightshift drilling crews, equipment, and daily activities.
- Work with client representatives to confirm priorities, address field challenges, and meet project requirements.
- Lead safety meetings, assess changing conditions, and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Monitor drilling progress and quality, providing practical guidance and troubleshooting support.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, tooling, and supplies to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate shift reports and provide clear handovers to dayshift supervision.
- Set explicit expectations, hold crews accountable, and build a respectful, dependable team.

What You Bring

- Strong knowledge of geotechnical and environmental drilling methods,



equipment, and field procedures.
- Previous drilling supervision or crew leadership experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills.
- The confidence to make sound decisions, address issues directly, and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
- Strong communication, organization, and client coordination skills.
- Ability to work nightshift in winter conditions and commit to the camp rotation.
- Oil sands drilling experience is a strong asset.

Position Details

- Expected term: January through March, subject to project schedule.
- Schedule: Nightshift, 24 days on / 4 days off.
- Accommodations: Camp-based.
- Vehicle: Supervisor truck provided.

Pay: $650.00-$850.00 per day
